Bootcamp saved my life!
Can group outdoor fitness really save lives? Many fitness companies are doing much of the same, but none claims to be saving lives!
It started with a few regular people training in a sunny Aldershot park. It was probably smaller than you might imagine; classes of just 2 and 3 were not uncommon. If you had told me back then Bootcamp UK would grow to be the group outdoor fitness leaders in the UK today, I would have thought you were mad!
It was one of those things that just grew by word of mouth. Our members were getting noticed at work and socially; their friends saw they had lost a few lbs, looked a little more toned and just had a little spring in their step. So they came along too.
Within months our classes had exploded to over 100 per class! We reasoned that it wouldn’t last, come the winter, no one would be interested due to the rain and cold. We were wrong, very wrong! Members loved the winter sessions; after spending most of their day indoors, they welcomed the elements and found it much easier to regulate their body temperature by layering down during the class, which, for legal reasons, isn’t an option in the summer!
Our members often told us they never felt comfortable training in the gym; there was too much posing and posturing. Members appreciated the versatility of our unique training style, a format designed to always be achievable for any fitness level. But more than that was our family feel, the support and social aspect at the very heart of BCUK.
So have we really saved lives? It started when we heard testimonials of members who had reduced their blood pressure and members who were no longer pre-diabetic. Members feeling more confident and fitter were very common. Also, members appreciated being a part of a positive and fitness focus social group.
And then we heard it for the first time.
One of our members told of how she worked from home and hardly saw anyone outside her immediate family, she suffered from mental health issues, and Bootcamp kept her sane. We thought this was a one-off, but the more we grew, the more we heard variations of the same.
So did we save lives? Who knows, but what we can tell you for sure is Bootcamp has a positive impact on everyone who attends.
Knowing this, we knew we couldn’t make price a barrier for our new members.
So your first ten sessions are just £1 each. We are so confident that you’ll love it, no matter your fitness level, that if you don’t love your first session, we’ll return your money, no questions asked!
