Bootcamp UK Medway – Barriers To Training!
What’s stopping you?
Why aren’t you able to achieve what you want? What are your barriers to training?
Many people have great desires to be #fitter and #healthier, but it falls apart somewhere down the line. 😞 What are the reasons for that, and what are the solutions to it?
Here are some of the most common themes
- Lack of time
- Lack of facilities and inaccessibility
- Money
- Lack of support
- Haven’t seen results
- Bored and disinterested
How do you overcome these holdups?
Initially, you’ve got to try to find something you love and can embrace. Find something fun and rewarding. If you’re motivated by having fun, then you’ll be able to achieve so much more. Think about what you enjoy – running, weight training, cycling, group-based exercise, outdoor exercise, Bootcamp style activities………. This list is vast, but it’s individual to you. Try things out to see what you like, and don’t be daunted – just try it! Look for special intro offers here to give you a sample taster period of ‘membership’.
Not Enough Time To Workout
Time will be a factor for sure, but can you find an hour or so a couple of times a week? This will give you a happy buzz and healthy feel from the endorphins released in your body. Research suggests that you should be doing 3-5 sessions per week for around 20-30 mins minimum to improve your fitness levels. Make that time your time and schedule it into your week. Make it non-negotiable so nothing can stop you from doing it – no excuses here.
Where Should You Exercise?
Facilities and equipment are another consideration. Try out group-based activities with lots of equipment on offer, and a good vibe will push you to return and achieve each time. Check out the options around because many fitness providers won’t necessarily have lots of variety of equipment available. Variety is the spice of life 💯 here.
Programming
Support and programming of sessions is a huge element too. Do you use the same equipment in the same ways at the gym time and again? This is a recipe for disaster. You need to stimulate your body into uncomfortable places by mixing up your training/equipment and the format of sessions. If you continue doing the same exercises over and over, you reach a plateau and eventually reverse the gains you’ve made. 😞
Are you Making Excuses?
And finally YOU! Are you your own worst enemy? Look in the mirror and answer these questions.
Are you making excuses? Tired from work, kids run me ragged, got so much to do, my friend isn’t going tonight……… this list is soooo long but shows that you’ve maybe not got the focus on yourself that you should have. This is for you; this is only for you, so commit and see the changes happen. If you’re giving up quickly, then the cycle of unhappiness will continue.
