Bootcamp UK Bexleyheath On The Obsession With Weight Loss
Historically the media has led you to believe that weight loss is a good gauge of health and fitness! Utter rubbish! It’s the single most talked about and reviewed element from many people. If it were all about weight loss, then surely the lightest person in the world would be the healthiest, right???

Throw Away The Scales
Throw away the scales and deal with more significant markers of health and fitness.
Building muscle and losing fat – the perfect scenario 👌
Muscle Weight Vs Body Fat
Think of this……..you exercise more and have much better eating habits. This gives you a loss of body fat – let’s say 5lbs. ☑️ You will also build muscle because that’s what happens when you exercise (and this is a positive) and the extra muscle tone adds, let’s say 5lbs. ☑️
This doesn’t mean you’re going to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger – hormones in your body will take care of that. Females with higher oestrogen levels than testosterone will not be able to build muscle in that way 😃 and will therefore establish a lean and healthy aesthetic look 😆

Your Overall Weight

What has happened to your overall weight after this fat loss and lean muscle gain?
It remains the same – 5lbs lost, and 5lbs gained.
Why is this positive then??
You’ve dramatically changed the balance of your body composition (fat/muscle). This is what matters and will enable you to be healthier, stronger and better equipped for day to day life. Less fat means healthier vital organs and a reduction in risk of heart disease through better blood flow and a myriad of other health benefits.
Through away the scales ⚖️ and think of these progress points:
- The way your clothes feel
- Inches lost around areas of the body
- Energy levels
- Mood and self-esteem
- Mindset stronger
- Further distance run, more weight lifted, more reps completed etc
- Lowered resting heart rate
- Lower body fat %
- Reduced levels of anxiety, stress and depression
- Control of medical conditions such as diabetes and asthma

Weight Loss Doesn’t Take Into Account The Full Picture
Weight loss only takes into account one factor – overall weight. Don’t be one dimensional, as your body’s weight comprises many different elements (fat, muscles, bones etc.). Look into these factors in greater depth and stop being a slave to the scales!
Change the balance of the healthy/unhealthy factors within your body to make you fitter and stronger for daily life.
